Kākahu & You

Kākahu & You is a special styling experience designed for students to explore the connection between pre-loved clothing and personal expression. This session invites you to rethink how you engage with kākahu - not just how it looks, but how it makes you feel.

AN EXCLUSIVE STYLING SESSION
Facilitated by creative practitioner Tuihana Ōhia, this workshop offers:

  • practical tips on thrifted styling

  • how to shop intentionally

  • how to choose pieces that align with your identity and wellbeing.Grounded in a Te Ao Māori lens, the experience weaves together sustainability, self-expression, and cultural understanding.

OUR FACILITATOR
Tuihana Ōhia is a creative facilitator and community weaver whose mahi brings together identity, expression, and wellbeing through kākahu. Her work in sustainable and thrifted styling reflects her passion for creating spaces where people can reconnect with themselves and explore who they are through what they wear.

She reframes fashion as more than clothing - as storytelling, creativity, and rongoā. With a natural ability to bring people together, Tuihana weaves mātauranga, lived experience, and creativity into spaces that are both grounding and uplifting.

Working across wāhine, rangatahi, and wider communities, her mahi supports people to stand confidently in their own mana. Her experience spans personal wellbeing, leadership, workplace wellness, and creative expression.
